New pillow for the bedroom

At last I´ve finished the pillow I have been embroidering for the bedroom. I have to wear strong glasses to do it now a days ;-)
I haven´t made decisions about the floors and walls in this room yet, though I have been wondering about having tiles here too. Don´t want the house to be too colourful, though.

The dresser will get some patina too, and the shelves and drawers will be filled with clothes, linen and womens assesories..

  1. Wonderful pillow Susanne. Your bedroom looks very beautiful. The floor I find this so beautiful.
Tiles are real or is it something else?

  5. Wow...beautiful already. I rather like those tiles, they fit in perfectly with the mood you're trying to create. I like that little dress hanging there, great chair too, perfect pillow on it. And those boxes on top, are those little hats i see? Ok...I better keep it short: I LOVE IT!

    Hug,

  6. Beautiful pillow, you must have spent a lot of hours making it as I can see there are plenty of colours.

  7. Hi Susanne,
Gorgeous pillow you've made. I love the black background.
The tiles are realy beautiful. For these beautiful miniatures I find it a little too busy, more for a hallway, kitchen or bathroom? Do you have the tiles made by yourself??

  9. Thanks!
The "tiles" are still just a print. I am wondering if they are too buisy too, though laying the tiles like real tiles with grout between them and giving them matte varnish, will "slow" them down a little bit. I might make a wooden floor and add a large rug instead...have to think more about it ;-)
I´ll keep the accents in the room mainly in pink/rose/burgundy, creme, golden and black. And I have ordered a black iron bed..

  10. Susanne - everything is beautiful! Great job on the pillow (I hear you about the "old lady" glasses - me too)! The wardrobe is nice and big to hold a wide variety of "stuff", and your occupant is well on her way to being stylishly dressed, accessorized, and shoed. :-)

  12. What a stunning cushion, Susanne, and what beautiful work. What have you embroidered it on -- how fine is the backing fabric? It looks very teeny, indeed!

I love all of your cushions, but this is something extra special. I love the black, too -- don't you find that most rooms need just a little black in them? I love the way it balances everything. And I think the tiles will work beautifully, if they're toned down just a tad :)

  13. Thanks again...
The Dangerous Mezzo: The fabrick is linen, 16 stitches pr. cm or 40" count. I know that you can go a lot further than that with silk fabrics, but I also know, I will never be able to ;-)
And yes, I agree, a little black adds perspective and balance, I like dark wood as a contrast too.
    Love, Susanne

  18. I love your pillow it looks quite stunning in the room, the chair is nicely shabby it will be beautiful when you finish I am sure. I think the tiles would be lovely, they go so well with the dress you have hanging on the wardrobe. They would create just the right mood I think, a little bit of pattern, with plain painted walls.

  19. I too like the black of the cushion. It stands out amongst the other pieces which are going to look great in the room. A black bed will set it all off. A pat on the back to you for your patience!

  26. H Susanne, love that pillow! May I know how many count canvas is that? I have some fabulous patterns but for life size. Just wondering if I cab transpose it into a 1:12 cushion :)

As you may have suspected, I love those tiles! I don't think they are too colourful. :)
