Bell jars and thimbles

You may know that I have a thing for bell jars, but did you also know that I like thimbles too? Small silvery things with nice decorations. I love old tools for handcrafts. Very often you can see, how much they have been used. I like that.
Today I went to a local fleamarked. I didn´t find any miniatures, I wasn´t expecting to either. But take a look at the treasures, I brought home with me. Old crochet needles, very thin with wooden shranks, some small trimmings and three thimbles. Everything very perfect for miniature world.
A thimble can be tranformed into a miniature in a few seconds..
It could be a flower vase..or a wine cooler..or?

  2. I love hunting down a good deal:) And the idea of using a thimble for a flower vase! And I really like your silver thimbles over the china ones....Seems there's so much more detail in them:)

  3. Lovely finds - the three bell jars are fun together! Old tools have so much of a story to tell of past times and women's lives, whatever land you live in.

  5. Pretty pictures! All the bell jars remind me of those nesting dolls that fit inside one another. I love pink and silver thimbles too!! Great idea for using them in miniature. Excellent wine cooler but would be a very posh plant pot in a classy scene.

  10. Beautiful treasures and nicely staged!
I also love bell jars, they are a really nice place to show your treasures (and also important: to keep the dust out!)

Love the little yarn, I'm also making these for my house at the moment. Hope they turn out just as pretty!
