Rust had slept!

You might think that I am trying to show you the same table all over again..but now listen..
Well, quite a while ago, I think it must have been in january, I bought some Scenic Rust, and I wrote on this blog that I was a little dissapointed with it, since I thougt I could make the same effect with paint and sand much cheeper.
Some days ago I got an E-mail from Birthe Knuth at Miniseum, where I bought the Scenic Rust, telling me, that she had discovered that a part of the materials from the period where I bought mine, had a "construction failure". So she offered to send me another set and vupti, now I have rust on the table that I wanted to rust (and a lot of other places where I couldn´t resist the impulse..).
So this is how it looks when it works. And actually this time the rust smells like rust, that special ironsmell..its not just a kind of paint, and I love both the color and the texture. So thank you Birthe, and I promise rusting will continue not to sleep ;-)

  2. I remember how disappointed you were when you used it before, it going to be like crackle paint effect isn't it Susanne - nothing is going to be safe from its application! ;)

And if Margaret gets her hands on it I suspect she's going to have a lot of rusty stuff in her Petite Parterre - not a bad thing, seems the more 'distressed' an item thee days the more it costs!

  3. That's great customer service, isn't it? I'm so glad it worked well the second time around, and I'm chuckling at the thought of you dashing about, rusting everything in sight :)

The table looks lovely, by the way!

  5. This is a fabulous table! So PETITE!!! And the rust is perfect. I plan to make a similar garden table for a new scene (I haven't already finished the present one!), but don't know which technique to choose.

I recommend: resist the temptation to rusting anything you happen to shoot :-)

  10. Very pretty table indeed! And the rusty smell is actually wafting all the way here over the internet connection... or perhaps it was your excellent description and my overactive imagination.

And yes, you can make as musch or little as you want. You mix it from different ingredients and add it with a brush. I takes 8 hours to delevop.

  14. Hi Susanne. I really like your table and the rusty effect. Did you sand the table first or could you "paint" it as it was?

  16. Hi, I deleted my previous post, because I was´nt making myself clear, hope its better now.
You don´t normally have to sand but to ensure a clean surface. The label says that it will go on all paintable surfaces such as metal, wood or plastic, but you have to get more precise information.
I´m sure you can find more if you google it, I haven´t tried that yet.
    Love, Susanne
