My latest experiment: A vintage lace dress on an old dress form.
I´ve used 2 cm old lace ribbons for the dress and glued it on the dress form, no sewing. Then I added a lot of small black micro balls on the edge below and in the neck- and front line.
The style is a little bit like the 1920´ or 1930, I guess...
Hi Susanne! Drora is so right, it is Very beautiful and I can't believe that there is no sewing! You did and excellent job of keeping the seams tidy and the lace is perfect for the dress form. The accent of the black micro beads is a great contrast to the color of the dress and really accentuates the hem and the neckline which is very daring and so 1920's! ooooooolalaaaa!

Thanks Elizabeth! I would consider wearing a bra or even a small top, but then who wants to be boring ;-)
DeleteIt's really great, looks very 1920s to me. Thanks for the tip of gluing it straight onto the dress form, that's pure genius!!
ReplyDeleteHello Norma, actually it is very easy. I just made a loose try around the form, and then decided how to arrange the lace to use it at its best. Then the dress sort of developed by itself ;-) Just try it...
