Just a sneak peek on the shutters (house rebuild 3)
...before the big painting weekend, just a brief look at the shutters and the stucco (also before painting)...the front door will get the same colors as the shutters.
Wish you a nice weekend! (Louise told me to say hello too ;-0)
The color is beautiful, but be careful, dear Susanne, the blinds are put in reverse.
If you leave them well, rain water will pass through and wet the wall of the front, while the slats should be placed in the opposite direction to the rain slides (or bounce) above. Thus the role of protective components is totally filled. (I hope you can take them of easily if you want to respect the reality, if not, of course, that's fine like that.;)). I can not wait to see the color of the front ...
Looking lovely Sus. Like Lea I´m impatient to see what you´ll do with the color of the facade.
The issue with shutters upside down is not a problem as I know you havn´t fixed them for good :0) I actually did some shutter researce yesterday to be sure they were put the right way...
Hello both of you! Thanks for letting me know. I understand the reasons why, but I am not much of a craftsman, and we seldom use shutters in DK. When we do, it´s only cosmetics ;-) Leá your explanations make me understand the logics of crafts-housebuilding (still on a simple niveau for me) this is sooo sweet of you, thank you!! The shutters are only fixed with wax untill the painting. I await a day with daylight/work off/weekend to get the painting done. Thanks again, Leá, you are too sweet to me!!
Your windows are Beautiful! I LOVE to see what Europeans do to the basic house kits.... Someday I am going to try to make a European Style house! Like the others, I look forward to seeing the color you choose for the walls!
We once, a very long time ago, lived in a an old house with shutters like these. I remeber there were little iron birds on the wall on each side of the shutters. These were used for keeping the shutters fixed open. Like Lea says, they were in reverse so the water would stream down. I love watching your work on this house. Hugs
