It started with some mussels and a lot of rain..

The rain is pooring down in DK, surprising how much rain there can be. It´s like the climate is changing. When I got home from work, I found some green shell mussels in the mail, that I´ve ordered. I started me dreaming of places to eat them. Some place warm and sunny..I just love mussels and to dip your bread into the soup that has been added a little bit of cream...

Maybe Provence.. In front of my house there..

Or in the courtyard..

Maybe rather by the pool?

I bought the pillow with my initials from Carmen.

Day off in Greece

I went to Symi today and back again! Did I hear you say that you don´t believe me, and that you think, I spend the day in the danish rain just dreaming? Well take a look at the pictures and see for yourself!
Look at this view!

I recieved some wonderful gifts in the mail from Anthoula today, greek cheecepies, stuffed tomato and pepper with french fries, souvlakis and a strawberry cheececake for desert. I immediately felt like I was back on that little greek island sitting at the balcony overlooking the habour.

Thank you so much, Anthoula, it was SO nice of you!! And thanks for the cute donut earrings too!! (I will send a gift for Anthoula too, I found a little very danish thing for her at the Farum fair..)

Once upon a sunny day..

I made greek salad for Annies mother, who has been so kind to make some corsets for us. I put the salad on a new plate, I bought, it is shaped like a wineleaf. As I was doing this, I was grabbed by a greek spirit, so I made a little arrangement.
There is icecold retzina from the barrel and extra oregano in the small container. The bread is made by the only baker on this very small island, and the vegetables come from the Tavena owners sisters garden. A quite heavy breeze is blowing in the middle of the day, so the paper-tablecloth is secured by table-pegs. Sit down and enjoy lunchtime, if you can eat more you might order some calimaris with lemon too..

Good ingredients..

Do you know one of these days, when your kitchen is filled with good ingredients: Fruit, vegetables, herbs, fish and maybe shell fish? The smell fills the air as you cut and slice. Be present and enjoy the small things in life...

It is one of these days today. I began with making myself a greek salad, which is one of my favorites, I eat it every day when I spend hollidays in Greece and I enjoy how the homegrown vegetables smells and tastes of so much more than most vegetables you buy in Denmark. Of cause I poured myself a large glass of icecold Retzina, but it doesn´t show on the pictures ;-)

Then I felt like preserving some vegetables, like their looks in large jars and to add lemon, chilis and other stuff.

I also have some lobsters and some oysters..well they have to be prepared too, so thats all from me for now ;-)

Let there be light

Today I taught myself how to put electricity to some of the small lamps I´ve made, after buing a transformer and other equipment. It is very easy and I don´t know why I have been walking around telling myself, that it would be difficult. So I let you have a little peek into Brocante, where the first lamps are placed, and more to come. You see that I still need to do all of the walls, the ceiling, the floor and the outsides. The weather is very dark today and Brocante only have windows in the front, so the pictures are not as bright as I would like them to be.

To celebrate the electricity I ordered some sushi and found a bottle of white wine. The sushi came all the way from Singapore where Mey Wee made them, but never the less they were as fresh as a fish!

Sorry the pictures shows in the opposite way, why does it do that?
