Rusty furniture

I am already on my easter holidays. Since the winther still haven´t left us at all, we are not going to our summer house, and I´ve decided to work a lot with the miniatures for the Danish Dollhouse Festival in Farum/Copenhagen.

Today I have been patinating metal furniture for the fair. You may know, that I love rust with a twist of green and grey...

Costumers often asked me to bring along some furniture, and this year I will ;-)
Hope to see you there...and wishing you a happy easter!

  3. Hello, what is your secret for that amazing patina? acrylic or some chemicals? I love it.
    Have a great day,

  6. Your furniture looks really great and so real. Do you use a special kind of paint to achieve this result?

    Wish you a happy easter!

  7. Hi, thanks for your nice words. I use both acrylics and a special material called Scenic Rust. I´ve also tried to rust metal items by leaving them out in the rain for some time, but the surface you get that way are thinner and better for smaller parts like beads. I like the thickness.
    Love, Susanne

  10. Such a fantastic paint job, Susanne! I have so much trouble with your comment window lately. It opens but it remains blank. I thought I would try one last time tonight and it finally opened and let me comment. The thing is that I like to give you a comment whenever you do a blog post.

Lucille, I don´t know why the problems with blogger happens, I had quite a long periode where I couldn´t comment on other blogs too. I could comment as anonymous though.
However there has been some spam recently so I´ve closed for anonymous comments.
