Books for the Orangerie
I has been a long time, since I made something for the Orangerie. I thought it needed some garden books, so I made a pile, using Photoshop and a printer. I prefer glossy photopaper, but haven´t got anything here, so the result became a little bit different from what, I had in mind. I can´t see it with my own eyes, but the photos surely reveal how old and used they already have become. I´ll change the cover when I get a different kind of paper.
The titles are danish, and the books are about old and historic roses, english roses, gardening in large pots, fuchsia, christmas roses and easter bells (heleborius) and geraniums..

They are wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteYes they are wonderful! Do you want them to look new? I like them used looking.
ReplyDeleteHi Susanne, thank you for your really nice words in my blog :) If you need a fish or a couple, I have some spare ones which I can send you :)
ReplyDeletebut you can say that they have been read a lot..That is a good thing;)
ReplyDeleteI think they are great regardless. I so know what you mean with the photo. It is the ultimate test I think.
I love your Orangerie.
ReplyDeleteNothing against some new pictures with your new books !!!!
Have a nice weekend.
Nina
I love your books very much Susanne.

Beautiful books! Who said there must be new ones in the Orangerie? That would mean there is a very fresh gardener there;)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, your comments allways make me smile, no matter what mood I´m in.
ReplyDeleteI think that the quality of the prints won´t stand time, since they are already so scratched and worn. If you look at the Tuscany ones, I made for Caterina, they also do not look absolutely new, but more robust and with a more soft color tone.
Dear Ira: So nice of you to offer me fish! I had them once, but my cat wouldn´t eat it, or eaven smell it, so I couldn´t possibly make the test in any way ;-D
Love, Susanne
Hmm, Glenda, maybe theres nothing wrong with a very fresh gardener in the Orangerie ;-D

ReplyDeleteThe books look great! Your gardener must be very knowledgable :)
ReplyDeleteThe books are very nice; I like the worn look very much, it gives them personality. :)

Too cute! They appear beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteLove me too, flora
Nice old books for orangerie.
ReplyDeleteMe gustan mucho como te han quedado. El efecto de envejecido o usado es perfecto.
ReplyDeleteBesitos, May
Susanne, these books looked great as used books. I once made a mistake of printing on the wrong side of a glossy paper and the colour ran. I kept them as "sun-bleached" book for having been left near a window for too long..lol!
ReplyDeleteDid you make yours readable?
I really think you should keep these :).
Me encanta el efecto que has conseguido en los libros, parecen usados, estan geniales!!
