Contamination
It seems like a lot of mini bloggers have caught a quickly spreading occupation of making bags these days. I also got it. So I went to the leather shop "Læderiet" to day to get some material. I could have stayed there for a very long time, just looking around and enjoying the smell, but my husband was waiting in the car ;-)
I found some nice things, some of these are colored snake skins, others are imitation made on goat skin. Here are only a couple of them, I think I will have enough for serveral bags, some purses and if I get the courage, some shoes too..
The picture is a little bit too shiny.

Wonderful leather you've got, we don't have any leather shops anywhere near - I have to try some from the internet. And welcome to the bag mania :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The leather shop is placed just outside Aarhus in Denmark, where I live, and it has an internet shop with an english version too. You can visit it on: http://www.laederiet.dk/Index_engelsk.asp
ReplyDeleteBut of course the special things are not in the main catalogue.
Janne, the snake skin is thin like paper/slangeskindet er tyndt som papir.
They had a "lucky bag" (don´t know the word in english)with 10 skins for 200 dkr + 25 % tax
And a very nice guy showed me the leatherware, asked me what I would use it for, and I admitted that I am making minis. So was he, so he got this blog-address..Very funny!
Love, Susanne
Beautiful leather! Hope to see your bags soon!:)
ReplyDeleteBeutiful! I'm waiting to see your bags:D
ReplyDeleteHoly snake (eller hellige makrel)!!! They are just lovely... Especially the 'amber' colored.
ReplyDeleteAre you serious that one of the guys in the leathershop are making minis? I thought they all where into western-/wiking- or kinky black leather?
Wow, these are beautiful! The colors and the variety. I can't wait to see your bags. :)

Gorgeous skins -- what a find! I can't wait to see what you make from them. Oh, and an idiomatic term for "lucky bag" in English would be "grab bag" :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skins for bags.
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
ReplyDeleteI knew that "lucky bag" would be a danishm, so thanks for the new word "grab bag" in english. I would associate very differently on that word, meaning that translation is not easy.
Love, Susanne

What a treasure trove!!! Your bags will be highly sought after :)
ReplyDeleteSusanne, please let me know if you find a tutorial to making shoes, I also want to try making it myself. I know, the shoes I bought are made perfect, she's an artist, if I had a tutorial, I couldn't make them like she did ;-)
